Conshohocken area residents can enjoy a unique recreational opportunity at a local rowing club nestled on the shores of the Schuylkill River.
The Conshohocken Rowing Center is a unique partnership between the borough and two local schools, Malvern Preparatory School and The Haverford School. In addition to supporting local student athletes, the Rowing Center offers membership to Conshohocken residents. The center's goal is to provide instruction and river access for adults and youth interested in the sport of rowing.
Members have access to the club's state-of-the-art facility which was constructed in 2014 along a four-mile stretch of the Schuylkill River. The boathouse includes a 300-foot dock for the launch and landing of boats. Members can make use of the center's fleet of boats including quads, doubles, and singles. Oars and sculls are available as well. The Rowing Center leases the craft and replaces them every three years so members can use top-notch equipment. Members with their own boats may rent rack space at $1,000 a year for singles and $1,500 for doubles.
The club also offers a workout area and locker facilities.
Adults can learn to row by taking classes or through individual instruction. Year-round rowing classes and camps are available for youth ages 12 and up. Adaptive rowing lessons also are provided. Off-water classes give members the chance to improve their fitness with exercises focused on improving stability, balance, and strength.
The rowing center offers individual memberships with annual dues ranging from $650 to $850.
The Conshohocken Rowing Center is at 307 Washington Street, just a mile from the Courts at Spring Mill.
