If you want to spend time outdoors on a sunny day, head to one of the following parks where you can relax to the sound of a fountain or enjoy an array of fun activities:
Spruce Street Harbor Park
Named one of the best places to visit in Philadelphia by national publications, Spruce Street Harbor Park welcomes thousands of visitors every year. Stroll along the boardwalk to play games such as bocce ball or ping pong, or step into the area known as Oasis to find colorful floating gardens and a unique net lounge inspired by Caribbean resorts. If you want to take a break from the fun, there are more than fifty hammocks hanging around the park that allow you to relax while taking in beautiful sights.
Dilworth Park
Known as Philadelphia's lively centerpiece, Dilworth Park is complete with tree groves and a dancing fountain. Throughout the spring and summer months, the park hosts an array of events such as live musical performances and outdoor movie screenings, and it also offers free XFINITY WiFi so visitors can always stay connected to their family and friends. Those who are hungry can enjoy a fabulous al fresco dining experience at Air Grille where the menu includes shrimp dumplings, cheesesteak sandwiches, and California chicken wraps.
Franklin Square
As one of the city's five original squares, Franklin Square is best known as City Center's favorite playtime oasis. It's home to a fountain that has stood since 1838, and a living flame memorial constructed in 1976. Designed by local sculptor Reginald E. Beauchamp, it is one of the only memorials in the United States that honors both fallen firefighters and police officers. Visitors will also find a carousel, miniature golf course, and a popular restaurant called SquareBurger.
