Did you know that cupcakes were originally served plain?
That changed when Winston Churchill suggested topping them with a sweet frosting.

SOPHISTICAKES
Kathleen Pawlicki grew up baking with her mom. She later created her famous pound cake recipe, and SophistiCakes was born in 2003. The bakery is now twice its original size, and the bakers create the treats from scratch using high-quality ingredients. The decorators work in an open space, and visitors can watch as they airbrush handmade flowers or paint a flag on a cake for a returning soldier. Cupcakes include lemon, strawberry, and red velvet.
SWEET JAZMINES
From the first time Chef Kimberly Davis Cuthbert used her Easy-Bake Oven, she dreamed of owning a bakery. She achieved her goal in 1999 with the opening of Sweet Jazmines. Chef Cuthbert is known for her creative flair and has been featured on the Rachel Ray Show. The bakery's logo was inspired by her young son, and it's open six days a week. Cupcake flavors include chocolate velvet, sweet potato, and caramel vanilla.
CLAY'S BAKERY
Family owned and operated, Clay's bakery has welcomed visitors since 1990. It's owned by Bill and Denise Bones and was named after her father. He was a Sargent for the Tredyffrin Township Police Department, and his fellow officers are regulars. The bakery's cakes and cupcakes are a local favorite, and they're used to celebrate an array of special occasions. Flavors include strawberry shortcake, chocolate chip, and raspberry swirl.
